I didn’t start a beauty business to be in the beauty business. I started working for myself as a means to have flexible work hours alongside my job while raising my sons. It didn’t start with making my own foundation but teaching others how to apply theirs. The steps and reiterations from that initial business to the company I run now (Adorn Cosmetics), wasn’t on my plan but after testing the waters and seeing opportunity, an idea became a fully fledged business.
Everything between my first job to the job I have now has happened because of time, hard work, luck and failure; the ingredients often overlooked when we consider how to start a business which is why today’s episode is about how to do just that.
From where ideas come from to implementing a prototype, today’s episode covers the ins-and-outs of the first few years of starting out and the personal roadblocks that often stop us from continuing (here’s looking at your self-doubt and savings).
If you have an idea, want a change of pace or simply want to see what a business is like to run, this one’s for you.
