Adorn Cosmetics Sustainability Initiatives
From its very beginnings Adorn Cosmetics has been committed to innovating sustainability initiatives, to protect our beautiful planet.
Facts are that climate change is real, and many industries, especially the agricultural industry has played a huge part. What you may not know is the cosmetic industry is also responsible for impacting the environment.
Did you know that 70% of cosmetics globally end up in the bin without being finished? There are many reasons this happens, but the main one being that a consumer orders a product which they believe will match their skin, only to find out it’s the wrong shade.
Additionally many cosmetics brands aren’t paying attention to, or don’t care enough about their environmental impact when it comes to their packaging.
It’s only when product bottles, pots, and containers are recycled and when the packaging is made in a sustainable manner that a real difference is made.
HOW DOES ADORN COSMETICS REDUCE ITS CARBON FOOTPRINT?
We’ve taken all the available steps to make women who buy from us proud to choose Adorn Cosmetics.
Sustainable Sampling Program
In order to solve the problem of unfinished products being left in the bin and ending up in landfills all over the world, we are one of the only beauty brands globally to offer sample sizes and sample boxes that allow testing of the product first, before committing to the full size.
Not only are you preventing the issue of unfinished products, you’re also going to be guaranteed the right colour makeup and the right product for your skin without the hassle of in store shopping.
We’re also very proud to be the first cosmetics brand to offer eco-luxe refills which directly impact the amount of cosmetics bottles and pots that end up in landfills each year.
You’ll be able to reuse your beautiful Adorn pots, while saving money. For example, a regular size Adorn Cosmetics Matte Setting Powder is $38.50, while the refill is only $30. Save the environment, and save money.
Minimal & Environmentally Friendly Packaging
We avoid 'outer boxes' that just end up in bin and then landfill. We also wrap our products in an eco-friendly, biodegradable paper protective material made from SFI/Recycled material. This is an excellent alternative to bubble wrap and foam peanuts.
Going forward from here, we will continue our founder, Melbourne environmental advocate, Briony Kennedy’s mission of bringing conscious and sustainable, natural and organic cosmetics to women worldwide without compromising on quality, style, or luxury.
