How to Correctly Apply our Best-Selling Loose Mineral Foundation

Tips for Using Anti-Ageing Loose Mineral Foundation

Today, I want to share with you the various ways you can use the anti-ageing loose mineral foundation with SPF20+ from the Adorn range. First and foremost, it's important to note that what you apply to your face before the loose minerals can greatly impact their appearance and longevity. Therefore, it's crucial to understand your skin type.

Hydration for Oily Skin
If you have oily skin, opt for oil-free and moisturizing hydration products, preferably water-based. Then, apply the loose minerals. On the other hand, if you have dehydrated or dry skin, consider using a facial oil or a combination of facial oil and moisturizer. These options reintroduce natural oils and provide slip for the loose minerals to work with.

Addressing Deep Wrinkles
For those with deep wrinkles and oily skin, a water-based product is recommended. If you have deep wrinkles and dehydrated skin, moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! By applying moisturizer, the wrinkles appear softer and fuller, creating a fresher canvas for your makeup.

Recommended Products
Today, I'd like to showcase two products from the Adorn range. Firstly, the Adorn Hydration Plus Primer Day Moisturizer, which serves two purposes in one. It helps regulate oily or dry areas, offering super hydration. While mainly water-based, it also contains nourishing oils like jojoba oil, which moisturize without clogging pores. This product is ideal for oily skin in need of lightweight hydration.

Secondly, the Adorn Antioxidant Superfood Facial Oil is a hero product in the Adorn range. It provides intense hydration, fights free radicals, and does not congest the skin. This makes it perfect for individuals with rosacea. Despite the common advice to avoid oils, this facial oil contains ingredients like lavender oil, geranium oil, and jojoba oil, which calm inflammation, redness, and aid in wound healing. It can significantly improve rosacea symptoms.

Using Loose Mineral Foundation
If you have mature or dehydrated skin, you can still use a loose mineral foundation by introducing a facial oil underneath. You can also try rosehip oil, but ensure it's a pure botanical oil rather than mineral oil or petroleum-based, as those tend to sit on the skin rather than being absorbed. Opt for porous products that work harmoniously with your skin to achieve a natural, long-lasting look.

Application Technique
To apply the loose minerals, use a flat top kabuki brush. This type of brush offers quicker application by maximizing the contact between bristles and skin surface. It spreads the product more evenly, requiring less product overall. Since using a brush exfoliates the skin, it's essential to choose one that is as soft as possible to avoid irritation.

To achieve different coverage levels, I'll demonstrate two techniques. For a light everyday coverage, use a big buffing motion. This creates a flawless, tinted moisturizer-like effect, providing a fresh, non-made-up appearance. For heavier coverage or nighttime looks, use a stippling motion, rolling and pressing the brush onto the skin. Be cautious not to drag the skin while applying it around the eyes.

Benefits of Loose Minerals: The loose minerals in the Adorn range are pure pigments made from minerals, devoid of synthetic additives. They are non-comedogenic and porous, making them sweat and water-resistant. If you sweat during the day, the makeup will allow the sweat to pass through, requiring only a tissue dab to remove it, without affecting the makeup itself. Many products containing silicones or mineral oils act as a barrier, leading to separation when combined with foundation. Using porous products underneath the makeup prevents this issue.

Foundation Coverage
A mineral foundation should last all day on dry skin and even longer. If you have an oilier complexion, it may last around 4 to 6 hours. However, the oil on your skin provides additional protection against the signs of aging. Remember to extend the foundation beyond your jawline and down your neck to ensure consistent coverage and SPF protection. Additionally, applying the foundation on your decolletage is beneficial, especially when exposed.

Choosing the Right Shade
Today, I've selected the medium olive shade for the loose mineral foundation. Light to medium shades are also suitable. If you prefer a slightly darker foundation shade, ensure it has the same undertone as your skin (yellow or pink). Mismatched undertones can result in an orange-looking face. It's ideal to colour match precisely, but a slightly darker shade with the correct undertone can also work well.

Additional Products for Specific Skin Types: For exceptionally oily skin, the Adorn Oil Control Setting Powder is recommended. It goes on clear despite its white appearance and helps control shine, especially in the T-zone where most oil secretion occurs. For individuals with dehydrated skin, the Adorn Rose Water is a hydrating option. It provides moisture and helps your makeup appear more skin-like throughout the day.

I hope these tips have provided valuable insights into using your anti-ageing loose mineral foundation and different brush techniques to achieve desired looks. Remember to consider your skin type, select suitable products, and focus on both what you apply under your makeup and what's in your makeup to ensure long-lasting and natural results.
