After cleansing, apply Adorn's Hydration+ Botanical Skin Primer Day Moisturiser or one of our facial oils.
Then apply 1-2 pumps of foundation dotted evenly over the face before blending. This formulation dries quite quickly and therefore is best applied with our specially designed cruelty free, vegan Kabuki Foundation Brush. Gently buff the liquid foundation into the skin for a natural and flawless finish.
TIP: Find your correct foundation shade by applying a small amount along your jaw line in the cooler months and decolletage in the warmer months; if it blends and there's no obvious lines, then it's a perfect match!

Is Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride comedogenic / clog pores? AND what is it?
Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides is * a mixed triester derived from coconut oil....
Caprylic mainly works as an emollient, dispersing agent and solvent. As an emollient, it both quickly penetrates the surface to condition the skin, and provides a lightweight and non-greasy barrier of lubrication. Comedogenic ingredients tend to be fatty emollients (but not all fats). Comedogenicity is complex. In fact, avoiding particular ingredients isn’t helpful because what really matters is the comedogenicity of the final product. The degree of comedogenicity is determined by the quantity of the ingredient in question, the length of time it sits on the skin, where on the face or body it is applied, whether there are other comedogenic ingredients in the product, and individual skin chemistry. In fact, comedogenicity is highly variable across people due to differences in a person’s skin enzymes. An ingredient may be highly comedogenic for one person, but not at all for another. Also, the combination of ingredients in a product matters and since Adorns Liquid Foundation mainly consists of rosewater and minerals the formulation is considered non-comedogenic (wont clog pores).
Scientifically to make understanding ingredients more confusing - you could have a combination of comedogenic ingredients but end up with a non-comedogenic product. And vice versa too. A product could be made of non-comedogenic ingredients but end up being comedogenic.
As is always advised we highly recommend customers trialing our samples first to test for suitability and personal preference or seek the advice of a dermatologist.

PRODUCT & INGREDIENT FAQ'S
ARE ADORN PRODUCTS ORGANIC?
We use organic ingredients when we can. Organic ingredients are marked with an asterisk in the ingredient listing of any given product. However, Adorn products predominantly made from loose minerals cannot be considered organic since loose minerals are ‘inorganic’ which means ‘inert’ or in other words, contains no living organisms and therefore not considered organic. Minerals or inorganic ingredients are however considered just as natural as organic ingredients as they are naturally occurring. Products in the Adorn range are either 100% mineral if they are loose minerals, or for cream and liquid makeup products the main formula is mineral with some certified organic plant ingredients added. Our Liquid Eye liner, Style Icon Lip Sticks and Glosses however contain more organic ingredients than minerals and are in fact over 70% organic. Adorn skincare formulations are packed full of the purest botanical ingredients and no synthetic nasties.
WHAT INGREDIENTS PROVIDE THE SPF IN OUR FOUNDATIONS?
The SPF20+ is provided in the Anti-aging Loose Mineral Foundation and this protection comes naturally from the Titanium Dioxide (non-nano) and Zinc Oxides. There is also a natural SPF in the Oil Free Liquid Foundation derived the same way.
CAN I APPLY THE LOOSE MINERAL FOUNDATION AROUND MY EYES?
It is recommended to apply only a very light dusting of the loose mineral foundation (for the SPF benefits) over the delicate eye area. For coverage our Concealers are best used in this area.
WHY DOESN'T ADORN USE TALC?
Talc is considered a mineral, produced by the mining of talc rocks and then processed by crushing, drying and milling. Processing eliminates a number of trace minerals from the talc, but does not separate minute fibres which are very similar to asbestos. Talc itself is considered toxic and a known carcinogen. Adorn's mineral makeup NEVER contains talc for this reason and because of the drying effects it has on the skin.
ARE YOUR PRODUCTS GLUTEN FREE?
The Anti-Aging Night Repair Facial oil contains wheat germ oil, however the trace of gluten in the wheatgerm oil does not exceed 5 mg/kg. The term "gluten-free" can be labelled on any product should the gluten content not exceed 20 mg/kg. To our knowledge, the remainder of our products do not contain gluten, a protein found primarily in wheat and other grains. As always, we encourage customers who have serious allergies to consult a doctor or conduct a patch test before using any product.
ARE YOUR PRODUCTS SAFE FOR PREGNANCY?
Adorn products are certified allergen free, toxin free and made safe with natural and organic ingredients. We however suggest seeking advice from a medical professional if you have any concerns regarding ingredients or products in the Adorn range. Simply copy the ingredients from our website for the product you are interested in and discuss with your doctor.
WHAT ARE PARABENS AND WHY WON'T ADORN USE THEM?
Parabens are preservatives which are commonly used in products such as soap, shampoo, deodorant and makeup. There's accumulating evidence questioning the safety of Parabens as these have been found in breast tumour samples - although its link to the development of cancer is disputed. Despite the link being unproven the potential is sufficient enough for ADORN to avoid the use of Parabens. Instead we use plant based ingredients to best preserve our range.
ARE YOUR PRODUCTS PRESERVATIVE FREE?
Not all. Companies must use preservatives in any cosmetic product that contains water or aloe to protect the product from bacteria or prevent it going off; preservatives are needed for safety and performance. We however use the smallest amount of preservative that is needed to get the job done, and must always be the safest preservative option including natural preservatives. Since Adorn uses luxury airless packaging where possible to retain the integrity of its botanical ingredients and to also prevent air and bacteria contaminating the product, we can use minimal concentrations and more natural preservatives.
Preservatives are not required for pure oils or loose mineral cosmetics and are therefore preservative free.
WHY DOESN'T ADORN USE BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE?
If you have experienced skin irritation when using mineral makeup in the past, particularly in hot weather, and don't know why..... the inclusion of Bismuth Oxychloride in some brands of mineral makeup is the reason. Bismuth Oxychloride is actually a by-product of refined lead and copper. It has a pearlescent look to increase luminosity in mineral makeup formulations and is used as a cheap filler. Many people, including sufferers of acne and rosacea will find that using products containing this ingredient will irritate their skin.
WILL YOUR FOUNDATIONS CLOG MY PORES?
The inert minerals we use in our mineral makeup contains only pure minerals and is without 'fillers' like talc, clay or rice powder. Our pure minerals cannot support bacteria growth and therefore all loose mineral products are NON-comedogenic, meaning they do not clog the pores.
