Mature skin is not always dry. Hormonal changes, combination areas and excess shine can exist alongside visible texture and fine lines. This formula is designed for that middle ground: light enough not to cake, but balanced enough to help keep shine under control.

Fresh skin, not a flat matte mask

The aim is to even the complexion without taking all the life out of it. Apply a light layer across the face, then add a little more only where you want extra coverage over redness, pigmentation or uneven tone.

How to apply on changing skin

Prep with a lightweight moisturiser or primer. Apply a small amount with fingers or a stippling brush, starting in the centre of the face and blending outward. Build gradually. If you become shiny through the day, set only the areas that need it rather than powdering the entire face.

Complete your complexion: prep with our Radiance Peptide Primer, use Oil Control Setting Powder selectively through the T-zone, and apply with our Stippling Foundation Brush.

How to achieve flawless foundation using Adorn Cosmetics' Natural SPF Liquid Mineral Foundation:

Step 1. Your liquid foundation is packaged in an airless bottle and may require continuous pumping initially to dispense product.
Start with a clean well-moisturised face. For dry skin, apply a nourishing Adorn Cosmetics face oil over your moisturiser to help minimise the appearance of flaky skin.

Step 2. Depending on the coverage you require you can use our vegan Kabuki Brush, Stippling Brush, or a damp Biodegradable Face Blender.

For a Dewy Finish
You have two options:

a) Rosewater Face Mist: Lightly spritz rosewater over your face after applying the foundation. The rosewater adds moisture giving your skin a fresh, dewy glow.

b) Face Oil: For extra hydration and glow, apply a face oil over your moisturiser. This will give the skin a luminous finish.

How to achieve a matte foundation finish

Step 1. Prepping the Skin: Start with a clean and moisturised face.

Step 2. Apply Loose Mineral Foundation: Using our vegan kabuki brush or complexion brush, apply the loose mineral foundation to your skin.

Step 3. Creating a matte finish
You have two options:

a) Setting Powder for Oily Skin: For oily skin, dust a thin layer of setting powder over the foundation. The Adorn Cosmetic setting powder helps to control oil and keeps your makeup in place throughout the day.

b) HD Miracle Blur Setting Powder for Imperfections: If you have large pores or lines, opt for the HD Miracle Blur Setting powder. This powder blurs the appearance of fine lines and pores, giving your skin a smooth, airbrushed look.

Shade Selection: Find your personal mineral foundation shade by applying a small amount along your jaw line in the cooler months, and décolletage/chest in the warmer months; if it blends and there are no obvious lines, then it's a perfect match.

Is Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride comedogenic or will it clog my pores? AND, what is it?
Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides is a mixed triester derived from coconut oil mainly used as an emollient, dispersing agent, and solvent. As an emollient, it both quickly penetrates the surface to condition the skin and provides a lightweight and non-greasy barrier of lubrication.

Comedogenic ingredients tend to be fatty emollients (but not all fats).

Comedogenicity is complex. In fact, avoiding particular ingredients in isolation isn’t helpful because what really matters is the comedogenicity of the final product.
The degree of comedogenicity is determined by the quantity of the ingredient in question, the length of time it sits on the skin, where on the face or body it is applied, whether there are other comedogenic ingredients in the product, and individual skin chemistry. In fact, comedogenicity is highly variable across people due to differences in a person’s skin enzymes. This means that an ingredient may be highly comedogenic for one person, but not at all for another. Adorn Cosmetics Liquid Foundation has high concentration of rosewater and inert minerals so this formulation is considered non-comedogenic (won't clog pores).
