Understanding SPF in Adorn Mineral Foundations

Adorn Cosmetics’ mineral foundations are Australian-approved SPF 20+, offering broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection. SPF measures how well a product absorbs or blocks UVB rays. For example, properly applied SPF 30 sunscreen allows you to stay in the sun 30 times longer than without protection while receiving the same level of sunburn.

In Australia, cosmetics are regulated by NICNAS. Adorn’s loose mineral foundation’s primary function is coverage, with sun protection as a secondary benefit. Adorn’s foundations are certified broad-spectrum, meaning they protect against both UVA and UVB rays.

If sun protection is your main concern, use a primary sunscreen such as Adorn SPF50+ Mineral Face Sunscreen.

Always follow the directions for use. Wear protective clothing, a hat, and eyewear when exposed to the sun. Avoid excessive sun exposure. Reapply regularly.

Begin with a clean, well-moisturised face
For dry skin, layer a nourishing Adorn face oil over your moisturiser to create a smooth, hydrated base

Use a vegan kabuki brush or complexion brush
Buff the loose mineral foundation into the skin for natural light to medium coverage

Step 3: Choose Your Finish

For a Dewy Glow:
Lightly spritz Rosewater Face Mist over your finished base
Or, apply a few drops of face oil over your moisturiser before foundation for extra radiance

For a Matte Look:

Keep skin fresh and lightly moisturised before applying foundation

SPF Explained: Adorn Cosmetics mineral foundations are an Australian approved SPF 20+. SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. This is a rating given to over the counter sunscreen products and cosmetics which measures the sunscreen’s performance in absorbing or blocking UVB radiation. The higher the SPF ratings number, the greater the protection level. For example, an SPF sunscreen rating of 30 means if you use the sunscreen properly you can stay in the sun 30 times as long as without the sunscreen and get the same level of sunburn.
All Australian cosmetic and toiletry products are regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) for medicines, and NICNAS for cosmetics. Foundation falls under the cosmetic category and terefore regulated by NICNAS, as the 'primary' function of a foundation is to offer skin coverage. Its secondary function being sun protection. This means that if sun protection is your primary need, then a primary sunscreen should be used. How to refill

Kinder Refillable Beauty with SPF 20 Mineral Foundation

1. Separate the lid, sifter, and base, then wash with hot, soapy water.
2. Rinse thoroughly and let each part air-dry completely.
Alternatively, sanitise with 70% Isopropyl Alcohol or Ethanol.

3. Pour your mineral makeup refill into the clean, dry jar.
4. Press the sifter down until it clicks, then replace the lid.
