How to choose your perfect foundation shade:

Order the shade you think will suit you best.
When your order arrives, test the sample pots first.
If the sample you love matches your full-size SPF 20+ Mineral Foundation, you’re all set to begin your better-skin journey with Adorn.
If the sample you prefer is a different shade, simply return the full-size foundation and we’ll swap it for your perfect match.

Please note: the full-size product must be unopened and unused for an exchange.

Begin with clean, moisturised skin. Prep with a primer or treatment if desired.

Dip the kabuki brush lightly into the loose mineral SPF20 foundation. Tap off any excess.

Buff into skin in circular motions, working from the centre outward. Build coverage gradually in thin layers.

Pay special attention to jawline and neck for a seamless colour match.

Set with a translucent powder or mist if needed, especially in areas prone to oil or texture.

SPF Explained: Adorn Cosmetics mineral foundations are an Australian approved SPF 20+. SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. This is a rating given to over the counter sunscreen products and cosmetics which measures the sunscreen’s performance in absorbing or blocking UVB radiation. The higher the SPF ratings number, the greater the protection level. For example, an SPF sunscreen rating of 30 means if you use the sunscreen properly you can stay in the sun 30 times as long as without the sunscreen and get the same level of sunburn.
All Australian cosmetic and toiletry products are regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) for medicines, and NICNAS for cosmetics. Foundation falls under the cosmetic category and terefore regulated by NICNAS, as the 'primary' function of a foundation is to offer skin coverage. Its secondary function being sun protection. This means that if sun protection is your primary need, then a primary sunscreen should be used. Adorn loose mineral foundations are certified broad-spectrum; which means that our mineral foundations offer protection against both UVA and UVB. The foundation offers SPF 20 protection via mineral filters (e.g. zinc oxide, titanium dioxide) which helps guard your skin from UV damage — pigmentation, premature ageing, etc., while still acting as your makeup base.

Mineral SPFs are typically gentler and less irritating than many chemical sunscreens, making this kind of foundation good if you have sensitive skin.

The formula avoids many harsh additives: free from talc, rice powder (in some versions), or other potential irritants.

Mineral foundations also often include calming minerals that may help reduce redness (like zinc) and are less likely to provoke irritation in reactive skin.

The mineral foundation is formulated to be non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores). That helps reduce breakouts & congestion, especially for skin that’s prone to acne or is sensitive.

Because it’s a lighter powder base, it often feels more breathable (“barely there”) than heavy liquid or cake-type foundations.

The foundation offers buildable coverage — you can go for lighter everyday look or build up to more coverage where needed, such as blemishes or uneven tone.

Mineral foundations tend to give a more natural-looking finish (softer, more radiant/skin-like) rather than heavy or mask-like, especially when applied with a good brush (such as a kabuki). The set includes a kabuki brush, helping you apply it well.
