DIY Adorn Under Eye Treatment VS Wasteful Eye Patches

Under eye patches have become a modern bathroom beauty staple. They offer a cooling, restorative reprieve for our eyes especially as they weather dry eyes, screen fatigue, eye strain, sleep deprivation and stress.

The skin layer around the eyes is thinner than the rest of the face so wear and tear can be seen clearly. Our eyes also suffer from exposure to artificial light, and air and overexposure to the sun. All of this can cause eye strain and if we are rubbing our eyes, we are doing further damage to the skin around the eyes.

The soothing effect of eye patches has been a welcome addition to our beauty routine as they soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles, soften dark circles and plump and replenish the skin.

Under eye patches are extremely effective on bags, puffiness, dark circles, and any signs of aging. On days when you're feeling sleep deprived or run down, popping on the cooling masks can help you look and feel refreshed and awake.

Under eye patches are generally safe for everyone to use. Depending on the brand, they are usually designed to be applied for about 15 minutes, but they can be expensive if we are wanting to use them a few times a week.

On the other hand, putting on under-eye masks for too long could cause them to stick to your skin. In fact, removing them after they dry out could cause damage to your eyes and the surrounding skin.

Reducing the cost & waste of disposable eye patches

Good quality eye creams and serums just as effectively can be used to address a variety of concerns, including dark circles, wrinkles, and puffiness. Eye cream is a type of moisturiser that is specifically designed to nourish the delicate skin around your eyes. It can help reduce fine lines and wrinkles and hydrate the skin for anti-aging effects.

A reputable brand of eye patches can start at $15 a pair. Apply that three times a week and under-eye patches are making a dent in your budget every month. Giving your eyes some extra TLC using your existing Adorn multipurpose products could help you reduce the cost of disposable under-eye patches and reduce unnecessary waste.

Adorn’s Intensive Overnight Gel Mask can be applied day or night to deliver a deeply hydrating and soothing result to tired eyes. Formulated with Hemp Seed Oil and Parsley Extract the gel consistency increases collagen production and restores moisture in the skin; targeting fine lines, pores and dehydrated, dull skin. The refillable, airless jar makes this even more cost-effective over time.

How to use:

1.     Apply Adorn Intensive Overnight Gel Mask to clean skin.

2.     Dab 1 pump of gel under each eye, taking it out to the outer edges of the eyes, just above the cheekbones. Ensure an even layer. Don’t allow the product to make direct contact with the eyes.

3.     Leave it on for 15 minutes before makeup application OR leave it on all night.

4.     Gently remove with a cool, damp cloth.

Follow up this eye treatment with an application of Adorn Nourish & Plump Hyaluronic Eye Cream from our Planceutical range. Dispense 1/2 a pump onto fingertips and gently pat it under the eyes and up onto the temples.  Eye Cream is best applied before your usual Adorn face moisturiser.

One of our Adorners, got quick results on her eye on the right. She commented how after 15 min she was able to see a softening of deeper wrinkles.
